Anglicare launches State of the Family Report
Anglicare Australia has released its 7th annual State of the Family Report – Creative Tension. The title of the report refers to the natural tension between economic and social policy, especially in difficult economic times.
Anglicare Australia has been producing this annual report since 2000. The 2008 report focuses on the issue of social inclusion and the effect it can have on people’s lives. It is based on the knowledge that is gained by Anglicare as a result of the support and care services it provides throughout Australia to over 425,000 clients. The report was launched during Anti-Poverty Week to highlight the fact that social inclusion is not merely a luxury to which to aspire only during times of full employment and a strong economy.
Community Sector Banking (CSB) is pleased to have been able to support the production of the report as it is an important contribution to the development of a more socially inclusive Australian society. It ventilates issues and extends discussion relating to social disadvantage and how we collectively can take action to enhance social inclusion by increasing levels of main-stream social and economic participation.
CSB commends this document to you and encourages all Australians to consider how their personal and collective action can assist in the development of a more inclusive society, thereby improving social and economic outcomes for disadvantaged Australians.
The report is available on the Anglicare Australia website: www.anglicare.asn.au
